20 songs from new and forthcoming albums here that you can expect to hear for the first time on Quasar over the next few weeks. Natasha Khan’s Bat For Lashes 4th album release is a concept album about a woman whose fiancee dies in a car crash on the way to the wedding; perhaps not the most upbeat of tales, however the song In God’s House is just beautiful. We also include another track this week from Welsh singer songwriter Meilyr Jones’ new album, 2013. Called Featured Artist it concerns the cult of ‘celebrity’ where someone who’s fallen on hard times following an indiscretion is now being re-introduced to the public and given a stylist. Ziggy Marley’s 6th studio album will be released in May and Weekend’s Long has a lovely summery sound.. let’s hope we get the weather to match! Not long to go until the release of Stiff, the new album by White Denim. Following on from the fabulous Corsicana Lemonade, Had 2 Know (Personal) is the 3rd track to be featured from this album and it looks to be just as good as its predecessors. Another early summer release, this time from guitarist Jamie Porter (Sound of Summer) and it looks set to be one of the soundtrack to days in the sun this year. A new artist to me, Drew Worthley, whose album Crucible came out at the end of last year, has become a firm favourite of mine. Listen out for Daemon
