New Streams Available
We are currently in the process of upgrading our streaming servers. This exercise will greatly improve our service and allow us to take advantage of a number of recent innovations in streaming technology.
Stage one of this process has already taken place with the introduction of two new streams, one 128K MP3 and the other 64K AAC+. These new streams will eventually replace the existing 128K and 64K streams and they will be discontinued. The 32K MP3 mono mobile friendly stream is unaffected.
Many of you won’t need to do anything to continue hearing Quasar. As the changes we are making gradually work their way through the various directories over the coming weeks your internet radio and many other devices will automatically update.
That said, if you manually set-up your method of listening you will need to update your settings. Details of our new servers can be found by clicking on the ‘Tune In’ link at the top of the page. Please use these details to re-set your equipment.
We’ll keep you informed as this process takes its course and if you have any questions feel free to contact us via the website or via Facebook.

Thanks for that Roger, on Thursday 20th my internet radio wouldn’t connect to Quasar, the error message said it was the wrong format so I missed Stuart Russell, anyway all was well on Friday evening.
Will Quasar become available through Amazon’s Alexa? It is possible to get it via the Tuner Radio but doesn’t always connect.
Thanks, Quasar and Caroline are my most listened to stations, one complimenting the other.

We are available via Alexa through TuneIn ( he says in a qualified manner). I have found though that Alexa fails to understand the command “Play TuneIn Quasar The Album Station”, though it occasionally works. If all else fails I go to the Aexa ap on my phone find the last TuneIn station and select browse TuneIn. Not a perfect solution but it works.
