Apps

Quasar Posted on 18th October 2018 by Roger Mathews18th October 2018

Some of you will have noticed that after running quite smoothly for quite some time our apps have stopped working (Except our 32K stream). At the moment the digital radio world is changing rapidly and the services we relied on are changing too, until we sort it out we advise you to use the TuneIn app. Android should not be a problem but Apple is as usual not very accommodating.

We will keep you updated.

New Streams Available

Quasar Posted on 13th July 2018 by Roger Mathews13th July 2018

We are currently in the process of upgrading our streaming servers. This exercise will greatly improve our service and allow us to take advantage of a number of recent innovations in streaming technology.

Stage one of this process has already taken place with the introduction of two new streams, one 128K MP3 and the other 64K AAC+. These new streams will eventually replace the existing 128K and 64K streams and they will be discontinued. The 32K MP3 mono mobile friendly stream is unaffected.

Many of you won’t need to do anything to continue hearing Quasar. As the changes we are making gradually work their way through the various directories over the coming weeks your internet radio and many other devices will automatically update.

That said, if you manually set-up your method of listening you will need to update your settings. Details of our new servers can be found by clicking on the ‘Tune In’ link at the top of the page. Please use these details to re-set your equipment.

We’ll keep you informed as this process takes its course and if you have any questions feel free to contact us via the website or via Facebook.

Introducing our ‘office friendly’ stream

Quasar Posted on 12th May 2016 by Roger Mathews12th May 2016

WowWe are pleased to announce our new experimental ‘office friendly’ stream for those situation that limit your bandwidth ability. Whether you are limited at work or you don’t have one of those “All you can eat” data packages for your smart phone our 32K Mono AAC+ data stream is just right for you.

OK, so it’s only 32K but with AAC+ encoding it gives remarkably good results probably better than your average AM station [remember them? 🙂 ]. To listen, punch in http://178.32.9.220:8000 to your media player or click HERE

As we said this is experimental so please give us your feedbag regarding quality, usefulness etc.
